Wilson and Gracie were definitely the inspiration behind starting Bark Avenue Pet Boutique.
Wilson and Gracie are my 2 toy poodles and they are the light of my life.
When I became their mom, I was working as a Human Resources Director in the healthcare industry and hated leaving them each day to go to work. I also had a terrible time finding things for them that I liked. I saw the same things everywhere and wanted something different. I thought to myself, there must be other dog owners who feel the same way.
It was then that I decided to open Bark Avenue Pet Boutique. For the next 5 1/2 years Wilson and Gracie came to work with me daily. During that time Bark Avenue was voted BEST PET BOUTIQUE by Water's Edge Magazine and Jacksonville Magazine. Our online Puppy Shower Gift Registry received national attention by USA Today.
Wilson and Gracie are now 8 years old and early in 2010 they decided to retire and close the store front. They continue to operate the website from home. In addition, we now offer pet food delivery service too.
We also continue to hold our monthly Yappy Hour on the fist Wednesday from 6-8pm at The Falcon's Nest at Amelia Island Plantation. If you are ever in the area the fist week of any month, stop in to our Yappy Hour. It's always loads of fun! Wilson and Gracie are always there and would love to meet you.
